When Someone you Love has Anxiety
Anxiety disorders are one of the most common mental illnesses experienced by adults. Recent statistics indicate that over 3 million people in the United States will struggle with an anxiety disorder yearly. Unfortunately anxiety disorders do not only affect adults; these disorders can affect children, adolescents and adults alike. One of the most common questions I hear in my work as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker is, "how can I help my loved one who is struggling with anxiety?" Often times it is difficult to know what to say or do to help the person that is dealing with anxiety. I recently came across an article on Psychology Today that addresses this question. I have provided the link for you below. Read through the article and let me know your thoughts!
